Street Fighter V Impressions From @UltraDavid

The pace of #SFV is fantastic, like a Ken-Ken match in 3S. Damage is huge, links easy, stun danger constant, footsies complex, zoning viable

Ryu is awesome, he feels like a really good 3S Ryu. Big damage, big stun, good buttons, good fireballs, good uppercuts. He's kinda scary

Parry is nice but can be canceled only into parry, so, can't parry then block/dp/etc, must wait till parry recovers or parry again

Parry recovery is p short though of course. But for example, I did cr lk xx dp & james parried my cr lk & tried to dp, my dp came out first

High parry & low parry still ? Nope just one, it parries everything .

If so, is anything both high & low parryable? Nope .

Are parries throwable? Yes

How big is the parry window? Pretty good sized, 3s ish

Is there a whiff animation? Yes

Builds a lot of v-meter. Yes.

Can you mash mp+mk while blocking to get it as reversal if opponent misses link? yes

Does down+mp+mk still activate parry? yes

Can you parry in the air? nope

Is there anything you can find that can't be parried? Only throws

How hard is it to whiff punish a parry? hard

Is Ryu in a counter hit state if hitted on a whiffed parry ? yes

Does the parry have startup frames ? no
